Constitutional law & federalism

Constitutional interpretation, institutions and the relationship between the individual and the state.

Our work addresses the interpretation and implementation of Nepal’s Constitution and the operation of federalism. It covers the executive, legislature and judiciary; the rights of individuals in relation to the state; and the legal structures through which public power is exercised.

We examine legislative and financial procedures alongside customary law, conventions, legislation, judicial decisions and relevant international rules and norms. Supreme Court rulings are an important part of this work.

The firm’s work has also included expert engagement with Nepal’s constitution-making process.
